The Chancellor announced new measures in the budget today to help people get on the housing ladder and provide a boost to the housing industry.
However, as reported by Wales Online people in wales will not be able to benefit fully from it as the Welsh Labour Government has failed to get its promised Newbuy Cymru scheme under way.
The NewBuy scheme, which provides mortgage guarantees, has been up and running in England since last March, but it was announced today that Wales' version of the scheme, NewBuy Cymru, will not be up and running until June 3
There has already been criticism from the industry of the lack of urgency which has been shown by the Welsh Labour Government over this. It seems to be becoming a hallmark of this Labour Government who are content in so many situations to just sit back, take their time, and allow Wales to fall further and further behind on all fronts.
