The Valley of the Dead 5k Run takes place at the Dare Valley Country Park on November 3
Are you brave enough to take part in the 5k Valley of the Dead Run around the Dare Valley Country Park?
A perfect build-up to the forthcoming 5k Nos Galan Road Races in Mountain Ash, the Valley of the Dead Run 2013 promises to be an action-packed obstacle course filled with lots of spooky surprises along the way.
The event is being organised by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council. It is a fun way to get fit and make new friends during the autumn months.
The 5k Valley of the Dead Run takes place at the Dare Valley Country Park, Aberdare, on Sunday, November 3.
Cllr Robert Bevan, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Development, Leisure and Tourism, said: “Jogging is a popular leisure activity throughout the County Borough, enjoyed by thousands of people of all ages and abilities. But it becomes even more exciting when you sign up to the Valley of the Dead Run!
“This will be a great warm-up for the Nos Galan Road Races, which are held in Mountain Ash every New Year’s Eve, with races for all the family.”
The Valley of the Dead course around the Dare Valley Country Park will test speed, strength and endurance. Those taking part will make their way around man-made and natural obstacles, and all who complete the course will receive a commemorative Valley of the Dead T-shirt.
The Valley of the Dead Run is not for the faint-hearted as all competitors will be chased by flesh eating zombies - all for fun of course!
The Dare Valley Country Park, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the County Borough, is open all year around. It is an excellent base for visiting Rhondda Cynon Taf and offers hotel accommodation and a camping and caravan site, as well as the ever-popular Cwtch Café
Situated close to the hustle and bustle of the town centre, the Dare Valley Country Park is set within 500 acres of stunning countryside and offers peace and tranquillity.
The Zombie Run 2013 takes place at the Dare Valley Country Park, Aberdare, from 11am until 3pm on Sunday, November 3. Registration on the day opens at 10am.
