Is union man playing fair with his employees?

RCT Welsh Liberal Democrats

A few weeks ago Wales Online carried a story about Pontypridd Assembly Member Mick Antoniw refusing to give one of his employees time off to attend Council meetings in RCT.

The article claimed that Cllr Chris Williams had submitted a 24 page grievance report. Mr Antoniw, who is a former trade union lawyer said he could not comment on individual employees but that "I have always supported and allowed reasonable requests for time off work for public duties and have never refused a request for reasonable time off. "I currently employ staff who are councillors and are allowed such time off."
Cllr Williams stopped working for the AM before Christmas, apparently by 'mutual agreement.'
RCT Welsh Liberal Democrats have now received what it is claimed is a copy of the document submitted by Cllr Williams. It can be accessed on link below and people can make up their own minds as to its authenticity and indeed the complaint made.
The document was sent anonymously, but could have come from only one of three places - Mick Antoniw's office, the Assembly personnel department, which is highly unlikely, or Cllr Williams. Obviously someone wanted this to reach a wider audience.
