Two men were caught within hours of stealing a mobile phone from a man in Pontypridd yesterday (Wednesday, 14 August).
They were spotted by officers who trawled town centre CCTV immediately after the report came in at 5.30pm.
An officer identified one of the men and arrested him hours later at home.
The incident happened at around 3.30pm as the victim walked his dog through Ynysangharad Park, Pontypridd.
Two men forced the 23 year-old man to empty his pockets and hand over his mobile phone – one of them threatened him with a weapon.
They have been arrested and are in police custody.
