Temporary Road Closure For New Ynys Site Project

Temporary road closures will take place in Aberdare over the coming months to enable Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s contractor BAM Nuttall Ltd to continue construction of the new access route onto the Ynys site.

The first closures will allow the works to progress and continue into the summer of 2013 will take place along Cardiff Street, Aberdare between Tinneys roundabout and the junction with Duke Street, and on the A4059 between Tinneys roundabout and the ASDA roundabout.

The closure of the A4059 will be overnight from 9pm on Saturday 23rd March until 9am on Sunday 24th March.

The closure of Cardiff Street will be from 10pm on Saturday 23rd March until the 28th March in order to progress the works.

On both occasions every effort will be made to complete the works as effectively as possible to re-open the roads to traffic.

For the A4059 closure, motorists can use this alternative route:

From the north-west side of the closure, proceed via Cardiff Road and route B4275 to the south east side of the closure. For vehicles travelling in the opposite direction, reverse the directions given above.
For the Cardiff Street closure motorists can use this alternative route:

From the north-west side of the closure, proceed via Cardiff Street, Victoria Square, High Street, Gadlys Roundabout, route A4233 and A4059 Aberdare Bypass to the south side of the closure. From the south east side of the closure, proceed via A4059 Aberdare Bypass, route A4233, Gadlys Roundabout, High Street, Canon Street and Cardiff Street to the north-west side of the closure.
All diversions will be clearly sign posted.
