Taxi driver assault: Pontypridd

Police are appealing for information following an attack on a taxi driver on Saturday night (March 22).

At some time between 11pm and midnight, a man got into a taxi at the taxi rank near Tesco Express in Pontryprid Town Centre, and asked to be taken to Tower street, Treforest.
As the taxi travelled along Wood Street, Treforest the driver was assaulted by the man who was travelling in the back seat of the car, and he was assaulted again after he pulled over and got out of his vehicle.
The suspect, who was wearing a white t-shirt and blue denim jeans, ran off.
The victim suffered cuts and bruises to his face for which he was treated at hospital.
Anyone who may have seen what happened, or who thinks they may know who was responsible, is urged to call South Wales Police via 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
