Successful drugs raids across the Cynon Valley

South Wales Police tape

Drug dealers throughout the Cynon Valley are licking their wounds following a number of successful drugs raids.
In two weeks during August, police uncovered cannabis, amphetamine and valium worth thousands of pounds as they executed drugs warrants at four separate addresses.
On August 9, 24 cannabis plants were discovered growing in the bedroom of a flat in Lewis Street, Aberdare.
That same day, officers executed a warrant to discover a man with sacks full of cannabis which had been dried and was being prepared to change hands on the streets.
On August 13, 500 valium tablets were discovered at a house in Cwmaman, and four days later, officers uncovered four kilogrammes of amphetamine inside a house in Fernhill, Mountain Ash.
In each case, men have been arrested and are currently on police bail pending further enquiries.
Acting Inspector Anthony Moyle, said: “In a matter of weeks we have managed to take thousands of pounds worth of illegal drugs off the streets.
“We will take action on the information we get from the community and I hope this will encourage others to speak to us.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact South Wales Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
