Fireroad, who supported Stereophonics in 2012, has agreed to headline at this year’s 54321 Cymru’s St David’s Day Charity Ball.
The band from Cwmaman agreed to attend this year’s 54321 Cymru’s St David’s Day Ball on March 1st, in a bid to help raise much needed funds for five small, but extremely important Welsh charities.
The date will be part of an extensive Fireroad tour which is taking place from February to June 2013.
54321 Cymru will be holding numerous events over the coming months to raise money for the five selected charities, including a cycle challenge which will involve around 60 generous participants cycling over 150 miles, through four countries in three days, during May 2013.
The 54321 Cymru St David’s Day Ball, which will take place at Mercure Holland House Hotel, is hoping to attract over 180 guests from across South Wales, to help it meet its fundraising target.
Welsh Charities set to benefit from the 54321 Cymru cycle challenge and associated events are Healing the Wounds, New Pathways, Samaritans Wales, Tros Gynnal Plant and Crossroads.
Richard Jones, frontman of Fireroad commented: “We were extremely pleased to be asked to headline at this very important event and hope that as many people as possible, that either like our music or want to help 54321 Cymru reach their goal, get involved!”
Fireroad recently released the debut album ‘I Got Sound’ which has been called “a stunner of an album by Pete Maher, mastering engineer behind U2, Katy Perry and The Killers.
Kelly Jones had nothing but praise for the band in a recent interview with Nation Radio and asked the band personally to play with them on their intimate Xmas tour 2012.
Richard added: “We are looking forward to playing our songs from our debut album along with a couple of new tracks which are yet to be played live.”
Therese Long, charity co-ordinator of 54321 Cymru commented: “We are absolutely delighted to have the support of one of Wales most up-and-coming bands. What we need now are as many people as possible to attend the night, which is set to be one of the most memorable St David Day events Cardiff has seen in a while.”
She added: “We would also like to continue signing up participants for the bike ride, so urge anyone who is interested, or knows someone who might be, to get in touch!”
Tickets to the ball are priced at £49.50 or £495 for a table.
