The latest statistics released today show that yet again ambulance response times in Rhondda Cynon Taff fell way below the target response times for category 'A' emergency calls.
In January only 49.8% of emergency call out ambulances in the County arrived within the expected 8 minutes. This is a slight improvement on the previous month when they hit a low of 43.5%.
It is far from good enough and lives are being put at risk. Talks of further reviews are not sufficient, the Labour Health Minister needs to act.
The Stats Wales website gives monthly figures from December 2011. Not once since then has RCT hit the Welsh Labour Government's already low target figure of 65% of category A calls responded to in 8 minutes. That target is 10&% lower than the target time in England.
