A number of roads across Rhondda Cynon Taf will be closed temporarily on Sunday, November 10, 2013, while Remembrance Sunday parades and services are held.
The services and parades commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.
The following roads may be closed for short periods from 10am on November 10 around the time of the Remembrance Day events:
Aberdare: Canon Street, Victoria Square, High Street (southbound lane only from its junction with Seymour Street to its junction with Canon Street); Cardiff Street (from its junction with Victoria Square to its junction with Cross Street).
Hawthorn: Cardiff Road from its junction with Dyffryn Road to its junction with Fairfield Lane.
Porth: Porth Relief Road from the Porth Bridge roundabout to the Cymmer Link Road.
Tonypandy: Eleanor Street - from the site of the former Ex-Servicemen’s Club; Gelli Road from its junction with Eleanor Street to its junction with Dunraven Street; Dunraven Street from its junction with Gelli Road to its junction with De Winton Street; De Winton Street and Church Street.
Tonyrefail: Gilfach Road from the entrance to Tonyrefail Comprehensive (opposite 47 Gilfach Road) to the entrance to Trane Cemetery.
Drivers may face delays and are advised to avoid these roads and seek alternative routes if at all possible. South Wales Police will control traffic as necessary along the diversionary routes.
