The Labour administration in RCT was elected in May 2012, as were their colleagues at the Assembly the previous year, on a promise to protect front line services. Their message to the electorate was that they somehow had a magic formula that would enable them to keep spending whilst the rest of the UK is forced to tighten its belt.
Now their false promises have been revealed at the first challenge - setting the budget for the coming year. The Labour Cabinet meet on 21st January with a proposal on the table to increase Council Tax by 3.95%. This on top of Council Tax bills that are already higher by some degree than in neighbouring Cardiff.
Yet another example of how Labour are NOT delivering for the people of RCT.
