Rainbow Flag Raised To Show Council Support

Rainbow Flag Raised To Show Council Support

Tony Wilkins and Cllr Middle with the Rainbow Flag

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council has raised the Rainbow Flag to show its support for the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, a global celebration of sexual and gender diversities.

Cllr Craig Middle, Cabinet Member for Social Justice and Tony Wilkins, Head of Human Resources and the Council’s LGBT Champion

As well as marking International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, raising the Rainbow Flag also highlights the Council’s commitment to the Stonewall Diversity Champions programme, which promotes good working practice in the workplace in relation to sexual orientation.

Cllr Middle said: “As the largest employer in Rhondda Cynon Taf, we are proud to have raised the Rainbow Flag at two of our offices to show our support for this important, world-wide day.

“Of course our work to promote and celebrate sexual and gender diversities goes much further than raising the flag on this important day.

“We have a range of measures and expert staff in place to support all employees.”
