Popular class raises charity cash

Suzie Hopkins with the Mayor

Suzie Hopkins with the Mayor

Women of all ages took part in a burlesque keep-fit masterclass – and helped raise money for Rhondda Cynon Taf Mayor’s Charity Appeal.

Suzie Hopkins ran the class at the Michael Sobell Sports Centre, Aberdare, which Rhondda Cynon Taf Mayor Cllr Ann Crimmings joined. Following the event, Suzie visited the Mayor’s parlour in Pontypridd to present a cheque for £300 raised from the event, towards the Mayor’s Charity Appeal.

Cllr Crimmings, who has chosen to support Guide Dogs Cymru, Macmillan Cancer Support (RCT) and Diabetes Peer Support for Children (RCT) during her year of office, said: "Thanks so much to Suzie and to everyone who took part in this fun event, which helped raise money for three very worthy causes."

If you would like to donate to the Mayor’s Charity Appeal, you can now do so through a secure online service. Please visit the Mayor's page to make a donation, or if you have an idea for a fundraising event, please contact the Mayoral Office in Pontypridd on 01443 494061.
