Police in Aberdare appeal following schoolgirl assault

Police in Aberdare are appealing for information following an assault on a young girl as she walked to school

At around 8.15am on Friday, 17th January the 16 year-old girl was approached by a man who was believed to be drunk as she walked along location known as canal walk.

He insulted and hit her causing a slight injury to her body and then walked off towards Cwm Bach Road.

The white suspect is around 6ft 2 and between 30 and 40 years-old. He was bald or had shaved head, and had what has been described as a big build. At the time of the incident he was wearing a white and red checked shirt, dark blue jeans and muddy white trainers.

Anyone who has any information about the incident, or who thinks they may know who was responsible, is urged to call South Wales Police’s 101 number or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
