Plaid Cymru pleased with Ann Clwyd invitation

brick wall

The Party of Wales Shadow Health Minister Elin Jones has welcomed the decision of the Health Committee to invite Ann Clwyd to give evidence to the committee on complaints in the NHS.

Elin Jones AM has proposed to invite Ann Clwyd to the committee twice in the past to hear evidence from her about her correspondence from patients in the Welsh NHS, but it was voted down en bloc by Labour members both times.

It was decided today that the Health Committee will invite Ann Clwyd to give evidence on the 10th 0f July 2014.

The Party of Wales Shadow Health Minister Elin Jones said:

“I’m pleased that Ann Clwyd will now be invited to give evidence to the Health Committee.

“Ann Clwyd has received valuable evidence about standards of care from many Welsh patients, including some from my own constituency, and it is right that she be invited in front of the committee to share these findings.

“The views that have been collated by her could be extremely beneficial to our work in scrutinising the Welsh Government’s management of the NHS in Wales, and would give us important information from a patient’s perspective.

“I am glad that the Assembly Health Committee will hear these important contributions.”

The complainant has also written to they' MP Ann Clwyd to help, but are waiting for a response; feeling that she is not interested in local people who have major problems with her Labour companions running Rhondda Cynon Taf Council.
