The RCT Labour Cabinet will meet next week to discuss a range of issues from limiting weekly black bag collections, through to adult education cuts and Hawthorn swimming pool.
The meeting will, as usual, be open to the public although those who attend may once again be disappointed by the level of 'debate' on offer.
This is because, we revealed a few days ago, the real discussion will have taken place behind closed doors at a private Cabinet meeting earlier this week. The agenda at that meeting, as leaked to us by a Labour Councillor, is identical to the one that will be put before Cabinet Members on the 31st.
If they want to make all their decisions behind closed doors then that is their right - as they keep saying, they won the election and they can do what they want (as long as it is lawful of course) - but they should at least have the decency to stop insulting the intelligence of the public any more.
