South Wales Police has launched an investigation following the death of a 45 year-old male in Aberdare.

Officers were called to an address on Cardiff Road at 3.20am today (Wednesday, January 9th 2012)

The death is being treated as murder and an incident room has been set up.

Anyone who was in the area of Cardiff Road, Aberaman this morning between 2am and 3.20am, who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, is urged to contact the incident room at Cardiff Central Police Station on 02920 527 303.

An 18 year-old local male has been arrested in connection with the incident.
