Mountain Ash Road Closures

mountain_ash6.jpg

A series of road closures are currently taking place in Mountain Ash as Dwr Cymru Welsh Water undertake essential maintenance work below the carriageway.

Over the coming months Rhondda Cynon Taf Council will implement phased road closures to facilitate the work by Dwr Cymru Welsh Water and inform the public of how this will affect traffic flow in the town.

From 6am on Saturday April 12th to 6am on Friday April 18th 2014 Mountain Ash Bridge and several other roads will be temporarily closed so that essential work can be undertaken on the site.

The contractors will have six teams working 24 hours a day in order to complete the work as quickly as possible.

Pryce Street and Chancery Lane at the junctions with Oxford Street will be closed and Union Street at the junction with Commercial Street will be closed for the same time period as the bridge. Access will be maintained for resident’s vehicles and those affected have been contacted individually.

There is advanced signage in the area advising of the closure which is taking place during the school’s Easter holidays to minimise disruption to the traffic flows as much as possible.

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water will continue to work in the area until October 2014 or until the scheme is completed and road closures will periodically take place in Mountain Ash until then.
