Meeting with Andrew Morgan about Aberdare Sauna, Steam Room and Jacuzzi

Aberdare Swimming Pool.

Last night I attended a meeting with local residents who feel extremely passionate over the potential loss of Sauna, Steam Room and Jacuzzi at Aberdare Swimming Pool.

We were informed that leader of RCTC Andrew Morgan is personally involved in the discussions to help save the facility’s at the Aberdare Pool.

The residents have another meeting planned with Andrew Morgan and have been in contact with his PA at RCTC Headquarters Clydach Vale.

We were informed that his PA said there was a small room available at the Rock Grounds Aberdare and she went on to say only 4 people would be allowed in to the meeting.

If more people want to attend the meeting they would have to travel all the way over to Clydach Vale in the Rhondda.

It was suggested in the meeting that all concerned had a the right to attend the meeting with leader of RCTC Andrew Morgan not just 4 people and the Sobell Sports Centre is a public building with large rooms on the first floor.

This would be the ideal place to hold such meeting as direct public transport to Clydach Vale is non existent, this idea will be put to Andrew Morgan’s PA.

The organisers of the meeting did say that the Sauna, Steam Room and Jacuzzi were making a profit it was paying its way unlike the swimming pool.

Residents don’t think RCTC should remove the amenities that are beneficial to the health of local people of Aberdare and the rest of Cynon Valley.
