Fancy a round of golf in the company of Rhondda Cynon Taf Mayor, Cllr Doug Williams? Then dust down those clubs and dig out your golf shoes!

Cllr Doug Williams is hosting a Charity Golf Tournament, in aid of the Mayor’s Charity Appeal - and he needs your support to help make it a success.

The event, organised by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, takes place at Aberdare Golf Club on Friday, 19 April, 2013, with some fantastic prizes up for grabs to the top golfers on the day.

All proceeds raised at the fundraising Golf Tournament will go to the Mayor’s Charity Appeal, this year supporting CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), Prostate Cymru and Cystic Fibrosis.

The event will include a:

• Stableford Pairs competition

• Refreshments at the half-way house

• Two-course meal after the round of golf

• Prizes for first, second and third pairs

• Additional prizes for the longest drive and nearest to the pin

• Presentation of awards

The cost of the day is £80 per pair and includes all of the above.

Cllr Doug Williams said: “The charity golf tournament promises to be a good day of fun and fundraising. Everyone will enjoy a great competition, followed by a meal and presentations in the clubhouse later.

“Added to this of course, we will also have some breathtaking views of Rhondda Cynon Taf as the venue is set high on the hillside.

“As Mayor, one of my most pleasant roles involves raising money for good causes, and I chose three charities to support during my year in office which are very personal to me.

“I am so looking forward to the day because as well as being a fun day out, it will also help raise much-needed funds for these worthy charities which support residents in Rhondda Cynon Taf.”
