The full line up for the 2014 Young Peoples Village at Builth Wells has been announced by Wales YFC.

The Young Peoples Village, sponsored by Harper Adams University, is an event that takes place during the week of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show, and will see more than 15,000 partygoers descend upon the entertainment and camping site.

Kicking off the event on the Sunday (20th July) will be Fushanti, a band from Ceredigion who cover songs from old rock classics to chart topping hits. They last performed at the YPV in 2011. Singer-songwriter Tich will also perform on the Sunday night along with Radio DJ Sara Cox.

The Monday night (21st July) will be a throwback to the 90’s with pop sensation 5ive taking to the stage as well as hip hop group Blazin Squad. Joining them will be covers band The Reason and Candelas, a band from North Wales who play alternative rock music with a hint of blues.

No YPV line-up would be complete without Radio 1 DJ Greg James and a foam party! Greg will be back for the fifth year in a row and will be headlining the Tuesday night (22nd July). He will be joined by Pop Idol runner-up and musical theatre star Gareth Gates and a Lady Gaga tribute act. Yr Eira completes the line-up for the Tuesday night, a four piece Indie band from the Bangor area.

As if two Radio 1 DJ’s weren’t enough, Scott Mills will be delivering a DJ set to thousands of partiers on the Wednesday night (23rd July) otherwise known as ‘The Big Wednesday Night’. He’s no stranger to performing at YFC events after recently going down a storm at NFYFC’s AGM in Blackpool. Also performing will be Bromas, an alternative pop-rock band form the sleepy suburbs of South and South West Wales and the UK’s number one Rock and Pop covers band; The Chip Shop Boys. The fancy dress theme for the Wednesday night is Wild West, so dust your cowboy boots off and prepare to party at a hoedown like no other!

Throughout the week resident DJ Gareth Hopkins and comperes Rhydian Bowen Phillips and Ifan Jones Evans will be working up the crowd.

New to this year will be the ‘YPV Introducing Stage’, which will feature local talent, giving them the opportunity to win a place to perform on the main stage. This will take place on the Sunday afternoon between 1pm and 9pm on the YPV Village Green and is completely free to members of the public.

Tom Bevan, Wales YFC’s Events Chairman said;
“This is the highlight of the YFC calendar and Wales YFC are always working hard to make it bigger and better each year. We think it is important to support local Welsh acts and to give them the opportunity to perform in front of thousands of people. We are also passionate about bringing well-known acts to the Village, ensuring that we are the best entertainment and camping site for young people during the Royal Welsh Show. We would also like to thank Harper Adams University for their continued support in sponsoring this event.”

The Young Peoples Village, which is situated less than a mile from the Royal Welsh Showground, is also home to an excellent camping and caravanning site with all the facilities that you should need such as electric hook-ups, hot showers, cash machines and WiFi.

Tickets for the event along with caravan and camping plots are available on the Young Peoples Village website: www.youngpeoplesvillage.org.uk.

Entertainment tickets will only be available to people aged 16 years and over. Anyone under 16 will not be admitted to the complex. Photographic identification will be required.
