A piece of land to the rear of a closed secondary school in Aberdare has been sold by the local authority for a sum believed to be more than £134,000.
Land beside Aberdare Girls’ Lower School was put up for auction alongside six of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s assets on Monday, July 14 – one of which was the school itself, which sold for £188,000.
The school closed for good last week as it merges with Blaengwawr Comprehensive and Aberdare High School to form the 1,600-pupil Aberdare Community School in September.
The land to the rear of the school was up for sale in a separate lot to the school itself, with a guide price of £130-£150,000 set before the auction.
