It’s not too late to run the Cardiff 10K for Diabetes UK Cymru

There is still time to sign up, get your running shoes on and take on this year’s Cardiff 10K to raise much-needed funds for Diabetes UK Cymru.

The health charity is encouraging runners to take part in the Cardiff 10K from 10am and 2k Family Fun Run at 9.15am on Sunday 7 September to raise money to fund research and support the 173,000 people now living with diabetes in Wales.

And for those running the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 5 October, the 10K is great practice as it is being held just a few weeks before.

The money Diabetes UK Cymru’s runners raise will enable the charity to continue its work to improve the care that people living with diabetes receive in Wales.

Dai Williams, National Director of Diabetes UK Cymru, said: “We want to let runners know they still have time to sign up to do something amazing to support people with diabetes in Wales by taking on the Cardiff 10K.

“The number of people with diabetes is rising every year in Wales. The money our 10K runners raise will help us to support people diagnosed with diabetes and the further 350,000 who could be at high risk of developing the condition.”

Registration for the Cardiff 10K costs £26.25 and Diabetes UK will provide a running vest, sponsorship forms and a training guide.

The charity also has places in the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 5 October.

You can sign up for either run by calling Diabetes UK Cymru on 029 2066 8276 or by emailing wales@diabetes.org.uk .

Cardiff 10K runners can also register at www.cardiff10K.com .
