Thinking leisure and sporting activities? Rhondda Cynon Taf Council offers something for everyone
Now is the time to be thinking leisure and about keeping fit.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is urging people to stick to their New Year’s Resolutions by heading to one of their 11 Leisure Centres and redeem themselves from those Christmas and Hogmanay binges.
Leisure for Life is a successful Rhondda Cynon Taf Council campaign that aims to get people of all ages active and undertaking exercise in a bid to improve their health and well-being.
It is all about talking simple steps to make exercise part of your daily routine and reaping the benefits alongside potential weight loss, enhanced fitness, muscle gain or even improved socialisation.
So with 2013 upon us, now is the time to “Lose Pounds at Your Leisure!”
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Leisure Services also has a dedicated Sport RCT Team to help you get involved and to help you stick to those New Year Resolutions.
Regardless of age, interest or ability, the Sport RCT Team can help you find a sport or activity that is perfect for you.
Simply make contact and tell them where you live and what you are interested in - and they can do the rest by making recommendations for clubs and classes, finding your nearest team and supporting you to get involved.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council has the full package on offer to help you do just that – an A to Z of fitness, from Aerobics to Zumba (and every other sport and leisure activity in between!)
It has a full range of sport and leisure activities available to all ages and great offers with its exciting and innovative morecard initiative.
Cllr Robert Bevan, Cabinet member for Sustainable Development, Leisure and Tourism, said: “January is all about New Year’s Resolutions, promising to shift those pounds, getting fit and improving your health in 2013.
“Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is here to help you shed those pounds and boost your fitness levels.
“Whether you would like to experience one of our fabulous eight swimming pools, nine well-equipped fitness suites, sample our wide and varied range of fitness classes or just book a court for squash or badminton, there really is something for everyone here in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
“What’s more, you will feel fitter and improve your overall health and wellbeing, for a very competitive price.”
Around four-in-five people in Wales are unhappy about their body shapes, with the tummy being the biggest concern for many people.
Rhondda Cynon Taf is offering its residents the opportunity to take the first steps towards a “New You” in 2013 by making use of its first-class leisure facilities.
It is also urging the public to get “more” out of its morecard scheme, giving its members unlimited access to a huge range of activities at all of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s 11 Leisure Centres.
Exercise and working out has never been easier - “have morecard, can travel.” If you live in Aberdare but work in Rhondda, the morecard is the answer to all of your problems because it travels with you wherever you are within Rhondda Cynon Taf.
