Gardening gear worth thousands stolen in Pontypridd

South Wales Police

South Wales Police are appealing for information after industrial tree-maintenance equipment worth thousands of pounds was taken from a lock up in Barry Siding Countryside Park.

The lock-up, owned by RCT Council, was breached some time overnight on Tuesday, February 5th 2013.

Industrial-grade eqipment such as a chainsaw, hedge trimmers, a plant shredder and a power saw, were stolen.

Damage was also caused to locks and the main entrance gate on Gyfeillon Road by those responsible.

Local Policing Inspector Nigel Griffiths, said:

“We think more than one person was responsible, and they obviously had access to some kind of van or transporter to get away with the equipment.

“Somebody will know something, and I am urging them to contact us. They can do this anonymously using the Crimestoppers number if they prefer.”

Anyone with information about who was responsible or who may have noticed somebody acting suspiciously, is urged to contact South Wales Police’s non emergency number 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
