Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Mayor, Cllr Ann Crimmings, hosted the Charity Golf Pairs event at Aberdare Golf Club to support Guide Dogs Cymru, Macmillan Cancer Support (RCT) and Diabetes Peer Support for Children (RCT). The three charities were chosen by Cllr Crimmings to support through her Mayor’s Charity Appeal during her year in office.

There were prizes on the day for 1st, 2nd and 3rd pairs, nearest the pin, longest drive and best individual score. The event also included a two-course meal and a raffle.

First prize in the event was won by Damien Cox and Rob Davies, with second prize going to Mark Ebdon and Chris Doughty. In third place were Richard Harper and Nigel Talbot. Rob Davies also won best individual score and longest drive, while Chris English was nearest the pin.

The 2nd and 3rd pair winners, who all work for BAM Construction Ltd, donated their prize money to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Cllr Crimmings, whose year as Mayor comes to an end on May 21 said: “A huge thanks to everyone who took part in the golf day. It was a great day out and helped raise funds for three very worthy causes which support residents in Rhondda Cynon Taf.”
