Free Summer fun for children

Summer

With the school summer holidays now in full swing, children living in Rhondda Cynon Taf can come and play for FREE at fun-packed playschemes across the county borough.

Outdoor play, water slides, crafts, football and hockey are just some of the highlights of the holiday play for youngsters aged five to 14 every weekday until Friday, August 29, 2014, arranged by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Early Years and Family Support Team.

The playschemes are being held all across the county borough at various times in schools and community centres and other community buildings. Children can also join paid-for holiday clubs at a number of venues.

Councillor Geraint Hopkins, Cabinet Member for Children’s Social Services and Equalities, said: “Our free playschemes offer children plenty of opportunities to socialise and have fun during the summer holidays.

“Along with quality paid-for holiday care and clubs, the play schemes are part of our commitment to deliver excellent services for families all year round.”

A full list of playschemes can be viewed on the Family Information Service (FIS) pages The FIS provides a free information and signposting service to ALL families with children aged 0-25 years in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
