Macmillan Cancer Support is running a free course in Treforest to help people who support those affected by cancer.
The programme will run at the Glamorgan Conference Centre at the University of Glamorgan starting on Wednesday 18 September. The course will run from 9am until 5.30pm.
The Cancer Support Course is made up of four modules and learners are asked to attend two days teaching for each module which will be delivered over four months.
Macmillan is offering the course to volunteers, health care professionals or anybody wishing to enhance their skills and knowledge when supporting those affected by cancer.
Accredited by the Open College Network, topics covered include developing effective communication skills, an introduction to counselling skills, cancer awareness and dealing with loss and bereavement.
