Families are being invited to an eggs-traordinary free, fun day which will also showcase the fantastic services on offer to them throughout the year.

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Penrhys Flying Start Centre is hosting the celebration on Thursday, April 17 from 11am to 1pm and there will be willow garland-making, face-painting, Easter egg-decorating, arts, crafts, children’s entertainer and more.

Entry is free to all who live in the county borough and there will also be a raffle, hot cross buns, cakes and lots of fun guaranteed. The event is being delivered with the Penrhys Partnership, which works closely with Early Years provision in the area.

Cllr Annette Davies, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Social Services, said: “We are exceptionally proud of our Flying Start centres and wider early years provision, which offers parents and carers access to a range of fun, free activities and interventions, such as childcare, events, early years development, play, parenting support and more to ensure each and every child born in Rhondda Cynon Taf has the best-possible start in life.

“If you are a parent or carer, our dedicated Family Information Service web pages are the best place to go to find out more about the services that are on offer – from fun play sessions that you can enjoy with your babies, toddlers and children to how to access parenting support.

“It has extensive information on childcare choices, the Toy Library, Flying Start, parenting support, what’s on for children and more. As well as browsing the pages, you can also contact the team if you have a specific question.”

As well as being a great way to spend the day with the family during the Easter school holidays, the fun event will showcase Penrhys Flying Start Centre and all the activities and events it offers throughout the year. All of the activities at the centre are free and open to all parents living in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Forming part of the Early Years provision to ensure children have the best-possible start in life, the centre also hosts:
