Free Day Leisure Pass available at Rhondda Sports Centre on Thursday, August 29
A Taster Day takes place at Rhondda Sports Centre tomorrow (Thursday, August 29), encouraging residents to try out the fitness classes on offer.
The Free Day Pass initiative is the perfect opportunity for people to try out the fitness classes or workout in the state-of-the-art Fitness Suite in a bid to encourage them to return time and time again.
Doors will be open at Rhondda Sports Centre from 7am until 10pm. Last admission to the Fitness Suite will be 9pm.
Fitness classes on offer will be Pilates from 10am until noon; Trixter from 10.30am until 11.30amk Low Impact Circuits from 1pm until 2pm; Trixter from 6pm until 7pm; Circuits from 7pm until 8pm; and Women’s Only Circuits from 8pm until 9pm.
Staff at Rhondda Sports Centre will be on hand throughout the day offering advice to all participants, both experienced and novices.
Leisure for Life is a Rhondda Cynon Taf Council campaign that aims to get people of all ages active and undertaking exercise in a bid to improve their health and well-being.
It is all about talking simple steps to make exercise part of your daily routine and reaping the benefits alongside potential weight loss, enhanced fitness and increased well-being in a friendly social environment.
Cllr Robert Bevan, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Development, Leisure and Tourism, said: “The Free Day Pass at Rhondda Sports Centre is open to all of our residents with the aim of showing them what is on offer as part of the Council’s Leisure For Life Campaign.
“It is all about actively encouraging people of all ages and abilities to participate in sport and leisure activities as part of this Free Day Pass but them keeping them interested in returning.
“Our aim is to get our residents to participate in exercise as part of their regular routine, thereby reaping the benefits of improved health and well-being generally.”
