Wales Carers Alliance has been asked to look for carers to take part in a focus group with Welsh Government for the mornings of 22nd and 25th October in The Gnoll Rugby Ground in Neath. Different carers for each date.
The aim will be to give carers a voice to help Welsh Government to build a well-being outcomes framework for social services which is based on what carers can expect and what is important to them for their well-being.
This is an important piece of work and will help inform policy in Welsh Government and social services.
Welsh Government officials will give some brief information about the work they are doing and what they are trying to achieve.
The main group will then break into smaller groups to discuss what they believe successful outcomes for carers would look like based on the well-being statement which will be used to build a common understanding of well-being for carers across all agencies, there will also be discussion around what should be measured to ensure the outcomes are achieved.
Once this work is completed they will be inviting those that attended to a meeting with the Deputy Minister for Children and Social Services on Carers Rights Day 29th November 2013 in Cardiff Bay. This will be another opportunity for carers to have their voices heard.
Travel expenses for the meeting will be reimbursed along with replacement care costs if needed. Places will be limited they are looking for about 30 carers in total for each date.
