an evening of music at the Cwmaman Institute

An evening of music at the Cwmaman Institute Free of Charge

A talented group of young people are hosting an evening of music at the Cwmaman Institute on the 4th July and you’re invited free evening of music.

Swansea City Opera and JanRo’s Steam powered stories have collaborated to support 25 young people aged 14-18 years from Rhondda Cynon Taf with a music filled evening in Aberdare.

The night, which is free to attend, will include performances from professional Opera artists Laura Meloy, who previously sung at the Royal Opera House Convent Garden and Amy Sedgwick who works with English National Opera.

You will hear a delightful mix of music including the ever popular ‘Let it go’ from Disney’s Frozen and ‘You can’t stop the beat’ from Hairspray. There will also be a wonderful selection of more classical pieces such as Castle on a cloud from Les Miserables and Mozart’s Trio from Cosi fan tutte.
This evening is a result of the project ‘Momentum’, which has been kindly supported by Arts Council Wales. Momentum was set up by Swansea City Opera and Janro’s Steam Powered Stories, both of whom regularly work with and train young people. Over the past few months the children have been working with the organisations in preparation for the concert, getting involved with the planning, programming and performances.
Doors will open at the Cwmaman Institute Alice Pl AT 7.30pm, 4th July! All are welcome to attend!
