Essential Works As Part of £50m Scheme

Part of the £50m Sobell redevelopment

The works are as part of the £50m Sobell redevelopment

Essential works as part of the ongoing £50m Sobell redevelopment to create outstanding education and community facilities in Aberdare are taking place.

Motorists and leisure service users are advised there will be a road closure and associated diversions in place in the town on Monday (March 17), between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

As part of the ongoing Sobell redevelopment, contractors BAM Nuttall Ltd need to close the Ynys access road in order to lay a new carriageway service.

As a result, all traffic that would have used this route will, instead, be diverted southbound along the A4059 to Tinneys roundabout, using the new river bridge for access to Aberdare Swimming Pool and Michael Sobell Sports Centre.

Clear signage will be in place throughout the diversion and motorists are urged to take heed of the instructions to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.
