Families can enjoy a day of exciting activities at Dare Valley Country Park on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15, 2014.

Girls and boys aged eight and over can join their dads in laser tag games and scale great heights on a climbing wall from 10am-4pm.

The ‘Active Lads, Dads and Daughters’ day gives families the opportunity to get out together and enjoy a range of exciting activities. The event was held last year and proved a huge hit.

Places for the day are limited and must be booked in advance. Admission costs £20 for one adult and two children. To book, please call Dare Valley Country Park on 01685 874672.

Dare Valley Country Park is just one mile from Aberdare town centre, the Country Park offers access to 500 acres of beautiful countryside; outdoor activities and a packed programme of events all year round.

There are many walks and trails designed to suit all ages and abilities, including wheelchair and pushchair-friendly walks. Children can enjoy an exciting adventure playground, packed with swings, slides, towers, nets and more.

Activities held at Dare Valley throughout the year include willow-weaving and Nordic walking and there are regular art exhibitions. Families can take on an adventure quest throughout the year – just pick up a free map from the Country Park to take on the challenge.

When you’re ready to relax, the Cwtch café and restaurant offers a delicious range of hot and cold drinks, snacks and meals.

Cabinet Member for Environment, Leisure and Sport, Cllr Ann Crimmings said: “Dare Valley Country Park offers a great welcome, coupled with stunning scenery and lots to do all year round.

“The Father’s Day activities are an example of the exciting and diverse range of activities and events available at Dare Valley Country Park throughout the year.”
