The Party of Wales Health spokesperson Elin Jones said:
“What these figures indicate is that the ambulance service is at breaking point. For the seventh consecutive month, the service has failed to meet its targets. When we consider that the Welsh Government’s plans to centralise services will bring increased pressure on the ambulance service, the gravity of this failure becomes truly apparent. For this reason we believe that the ambulance service should be directly funded. Setting a budget line for the ambulance trust would allow it to properly plan for its future.”
