Having been for a short walk around Aberaman it is sad to see so many streets strewn with litter.
You would think as the Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council has his seat in Aberaman the there would be a little more effort put in to keep his ward a little cleaner?
Gwawr Street home of the other labour councillor in Aberaman looks as if it hasn’t been cleaned for month’s papers cans and decaying leaves in the gutters, little wonder RCTC have problems with flooding, what are the councillors getting paid for?
This is the address http://www.rctcbc.gov.uk/en/forms/streetcleaning-reportproblemsonline.as...
Just in case any councillors don’t know just how to keep their ward clean, it’s just something they get well paid for.
What is needed is an old style person with a brush and shovel Wombles with long tweezers just pick up litter not general rubbish and accumulated dirt sending a mechanical sweeper leaving most of the rubbish behind due to obstructions seems to be the norm.
This is a quote from Rhondda Cynon Taf Council
“Every day and night Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Streetcare Services sends out an army of dedicated workers, known as Streetcare operatives who work in all weathers everyday of the week to make sure the areas that you live in are clean, tidy and ready for the day ahead.”
I don’t blame the Streetcare operatives but who is in charge? Who’s not doing their job?
I have made numerous
I have made numerous enquiries on this very point. I have to be blunt RTCBC are not doing their job as they are required to by law.
They do not like members of the public questioning them and in fact would rather bluntly lie when questioned.
Its pointless approaching your elected councillors on this topic, as they are just the powerless clones of the unelected senior council officials.
I am pleased to see others concerned over the issue of street filth, for they too will realise exactly how poorly RTCBC is serving our community.
What I have discovered in my dealings with them, is that there are few there with that all important genuine desire to serve the public well, but plenty there ready and willing to deliberately lie to cover for their dereliction of duty.
This is an appalling situation which simply cannot be allowed to continue.
As it is the officials of RTCBC, together with the councillors are taking money off the public under false pretences..........and laughing at you all
while doing so!
And will continue to do so while we the public let them.
Its the same in Cwmbach, the
Its the same in Cwmbach, the kids and their parents come out of the shop, dump their crisp, chocolate and lottery tickets all over the streets.
No respect

Rubbish on the road in Aberaman North who is responsible?
Photographs taken in Aberaman North a private industrial estate or owned by RCTC?
Whoever is responsible it should not be allowed to get like this just a breading ground for vermin.

It's sad to say that the valleys have never been particularly clean and free of rubbish.
There has always been apathy when it comes to looking after the environment.
A lot of people in the valleys need educating on community hygiene, this goes for adults as well as youngsters.
Litter strewn about especially in lanes is shocking and it's not the council who is responsible for that.
I have written on here on the same subject but all criticism of this problem always seem to fall on deaf ears.
You are responsible and YOU and YOU and YOU. get your act together for the sake of your community.
Whose responsibility is it
Whose responsibility is it to clean up litter?
Local authorities are responsible for clearing litter from the streets, and for enforcing the laws that make it a crime to drop litter (which includes chewing gum, cigarette stubs etc.). Business and other producers also have a responsibility to reduce the amount of litter they generate, and sometimes also to help clear it up.
The government also provides funding to the charity Keep Britain Tidy to run campaigns to raise awareness of the issue, and educate people about the consequences of this thoughtless behaviour. It also co-ordinates the Eco-Schools project which, amongst other things, works in schools to challenge the littering culture from a young age.
RCTBC have provided schedules of their street cleansing programs, but again such schedules were false as they were not where they said they were a specific time and date...we were, cameras and tape recorders in hand.
Regrettably it is now the norm and quite expedient for RCTBC officials to deliberately lie to the public....even more regrettable is the sad fact that the public are letting them get away with it!
Granted it is the council's
Granted it is the council's job to clean areas under their jurisdiction but these places wouldn't be so filthy if people were more responsible and not litter in the first place.
Litter laws came out many years ago but if they wee implemented to the full there would be hell to pay but the result by now would be a cleaner U K.
Britain is known abroad as " The dirty old man of Europe.
That's a nice reputation isn't it.
You only have yourselves to blame.

missgemini
It's not just the streets that are dirty. If anyone has been into the bus station of an evening, by this I mean after 5pm, and seen a crowd of teenagers, who must go there most nights, not necessarily waiting for buses either!! They leave bottles, crisp bags, etc. etc.there are bins about, but they would rather drop their rubbish on the floor, for someone else to pick up.
I rest my case.
I rest my case.
Little scrotes need some
Little scrotes need some punishment, get the police with council to just drop on them and make them pick it up and fine the parents.

£385,000 spent by RCTC on Aberdare Library refurbishment scheme to complement the extensive regeneration work in the town centre.
But what about the adjoining building and the Dare River walk not the best advertisement for the town that has had over £7 million spent on it.

Who’s responsible for just planting two mature trees? Right next to the old Town Hall a grade 2 listed building that is just about to have a major refurbishment.
Has anyone in the council heard of forward planning? And not wasting even more money.
