The long overdue decision on the reorganisation of hospital services appears to be creeping closer as Cwm Taf University Health Board announce a public meeting to "receive and consider" the recommendations of the South Wales Programme Board.
The initial proposals which were put out to consultation proposed a 'best fit' option which would involve the removal of several critical care services from the Royal Glamorgan hospital. The public response was huge, so much so that the feedback originally scheduled for December had to be postponed to allow for due consideration of the responses.
Cwm Taf Community Health Council have already voiced their opposition to removal of critical care services from the Royal Glamorgan - Cwm Taf UHB are likely to be subject to a substantial public backlash if they do not do the same.
The meeting will be held on Thursday 13th February, starting at 11am at Llantrisant Leisure Centre.
