We’re supporting the 10th anniversary of Safer Internet Day on February 5th
Safer Internet Day is organised by the Insafe Network each February to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile internet, especially amongst young people.
It’s a global initiative that has been running since 2004 and this year the focus of the day is online rights and responsibilities, with the slogan ‘Connecting with Respect’.
Young people are being encouraged to think about the different ways in which they connect online and to consider their behaviour whilst doing so.
This includes showing respect for other online users, but knowing when to say ‘no’ to certain requests and how to report anything inappropriate.
Our internet safety leaflets about rights online (590.63 kB) is available for download.
