Talented young people took part in a variety concert in Pontypridd, raising funds for the Mayor of Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Charity Appeal
.Students from Tonypandy Community College joined with members of Beddau and Gilfach Goch-based theatre group the LMT Academy to perform popular songs in the musical extravaganza.

The event raised more than £1,250 for the three charities supported by Mayor Cllr Ann Crimmings during her year in office - Guide Dogs Cymru, Macmillan Cancer Support (RCT) and Diabetes Peer Support for Children (RCT).
Mayor Cllr Crimmings, who was a special guest at the show, said: “A big thank you to all the young performers who put on a great show filled with popular songs. This is the sixth year running that Tonypandy Community College and the LMT Academy have staged a charity concert.
“I am extremely grateful to everyone involved for helping to raise funds for such good causes.”
The event was compered by Mark Evans, who also sang.

Great events lined up in the coming weeks to raise money for the Mayor’s Charity Appeal include:
- An Easter Egg hunt at Dare Valley Country Park, Aberdare, on April 19 and 20.
- A family-friendly Lap the Lake fun run also at Dare Valley on April 20.
- An Elvis tribute night in Pontypridd on May 2.
- The Welsh Three Peaks Challenge on May 10.
- A Golf Pairs Tournament at Aberdare Golf Club on May 16.
