Come To The Carers Rights Workshop

Are you interested in finding out about your rights as a carer?

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Carers Support Project is holding a free workshop in Pontypridd next month for carers who would like to learn more about their legal rights.

The Carers Rights Workshop allows carers the opportunity to gain information and advice needed to support them in their role.

This will include presentations on care and treatment planning awareness as part of the Mental Health Measure by the Local Health Board.

There will also be a representative from the Department of Work and Pensions to provide info on Carers Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Personal Independent Payment (PIP), Carers Credit and Pension Credit and answer any questions carers may have.

“Being a carer can sometimes lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation but here in Rhondda Cynon Taf, we want all carers to know they are not alone and that there are many services and networks out there which can help emotionally and practically with the caring responsibility.

“As a Council we appreciate that all carers have different needs and concerns and the talks and workshops provided Carers with an insight into the range of services on offer.”

Carers Rights Workshop takes place on March 19th from 10.30am to 2pm at the Muni Arts Centre, Pontypridd. A light lunch will be provided.

For further details about the Carers Rights Workshop contact Pat McCarthy on 0786 6539075 or Claire Meredith on 01443 668813.
