Shoppers invited to grab unique gifts
Only eight weeks until Christmas
Local artists and crafters selling their work and giving demonstrations on their craft
Shoppers in Wales can grab a Christmas gift with a difference this weekend at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water’s Elan Valley estate’s Winter Craft Fair.
With only eight weeks until the big day, the fair provides an opportunity to buy a range of unique gifts, crafted by local Welsh artists and crafters.
Shoppers can browse handmade jewellery, wildlife photography, handmade buttons, beads and accessories, fair trade crafts, crystals, paintings and more.
Sorcha Lewis, Head Ranger at the Elan Valley said of the event: “By popular demand, the Christmas Fayre will be back at the Elan Valley Visitor Centre this year. It’s a great chance to see Welsh Crafters at their best and this year there will be even more people exhibiting. There’s plenty of opportunity to buy a bespoke gift this Christmas and perhaps pick up a treat for yourself too!”
There will also be opportunities to see some of the crafters at work with demonstrations throughout the day.
The visitors centre and craft fair will be open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 of November.
Situated within the Elan Estate in mid-Wales, the Visitor Centre provides a wide variety of information and educational and interactive resources.
Responsibility for protecting the Elan Valley lies with Welsh Water and The Elan Valley Trust. Welsh Water is a not-for-profit company and is committed to promoting access and recreation at its reservoir sites as well as managing over 42,000 hectares of land and enhancing special wildlife area in its care.
