People, businesses and organisations with an interest in the Welsh environment are invited to comment on proposals for Natural Resources Wales’s first corporate plan.
The proposals set out the strategic direction for the organisation over the next three years and will form the main components of the corporate plan.
They outline how the organisation will maintain, use and enhance Wales’s natural resources for both the short term and the future, following several workshops across Wales whereby stakeholders gave views on what is important for the environment and the organisation.
Comments received during the consultation will help shape the organisation’s first corporate plan and the future of the environment in Wales.
Emyr Roberts, Chief Executive of Natural Resources Wales said:
“Our environment is one of our greatest resources. As well as contributing to our general wellbeing, it is also important to our economy, contributing an estimated £8billion per year.
“The creation of Natural Resources Wales provides a unique opportunity to start afresh, taking the best of the past, but looking ahead with creativity and innovation.
“However, as a new organisation we have a very wide remit, and we won’t be able to do everything, everywhere.
“We want to hear people’s thoughts on what we do, how we do it, and if this is the right direction for the organisation.”
The consultation opens today and will run until Friday 10 January 2014.
