TV favourites The Chiappa Sisters will be making a special appearance at this year’s Big Welsh Bite.
The two-day event on August 2-3 looks set to take over Ynysangharad War Memorial Park in Pontypridd, showcasing mouth-watering products from around Wales.
The Chiappa Sisters are the stars of the hit Channel 4 show Simply Italian. They magically combine their Italian roots with their South Wales Valleys upbringing and have fast become a huge hit with cookery fans.
Their new book, also called Simply Italian, is also flying off the bookshelves, cementing their standing alongside other long-established TV cookery experts.
The talented Chiappa Sisters will be appearing at the Council’s Big Welsh Bite on the Saturday only (August 2).
Now in its 11th year, the Welsh Food and Agricultural Show, organised by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, promises to be a massive fun-filled family event.
There will be many attractions at Big Welsh Bite 2014, including a fine array of food and craft stalls and a packed itinerary of arena shows and side attractions.
All produce available on both days will be grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stallholders themselves, resulting in a truly scrumptious range of local produce.
The Council’s Big Welsh Bite, funded by Welsh Government, started back in the summer of 2003 and has gone on to attract thousands of visitors each year ever since.
Attractions this year include Welsh food and craft, cookery demonstrations, arena displays, Health and Wellbeing Zone, information stalls, children’s entertainment, farm animals and a funfair.
Cllr Maureen Webber, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member for Council Business and Corporate Affairs, said: “Big Welsh Bite promises to be a wonderful event that promotes all that we have to offer in Rhondda Cynon Taf, as well as our wonderful award-winning Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, which in itself is a popular tourist attraction.
“I am especially delighted to welcome the Chiappa Sisters to our County Borough, as well as all the exhibitors from across Rhondda Cynon Taf and all over Wales."
The Chiappa Sisters are known for their hearty, no-fuss family food which has been inspired by their Italian heritage. Their popular TV show teaches viewers how to cook up delicious Italian dishes like a true aficionado.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Big Welsh Bite takes place at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd, on August 2-3. Gates will be open from 11am until 5pm daily. The Chiappa Sisters will be appearing on the Saturday only (August 2).
