Cooking up some tastuy treats at the Big Welsh Bite
A tasty treat is on the menu this summer as Big Welsh Bite once again takes over Ynysangharad War Memorial Park in Pontypridd!
Now in its 11th year, the Welsh Food and Agricultural Show, organised by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, is a massive fun-filled family event and is one of many included in the Council’s 2014 events calendar.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Big Welsh Bite takes place at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd, on August 2-3.
There will be many attractions at Big Welsh Bite 2014, including a fine array of food and craft stalls and a packed itinerary of arena shows and side attractions.
All produce available at Big Welsh Bite will be grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stallholders themselves, resulting in a scrumptious range of local produce.
The Council’s Big Welsh Bite, which had been due to take place at Rhondda Heritage Park this year, began in the summer of 2003. It has since gone on to attract thousands of visitors each year - and is back at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park!
Cllr Maureen Webber, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member for Council Business and Public Relations, said: “I am delighted that once again the Council is hosting Big Welsh Bite, despite tough times. It promises to be a wonderful event that promotes all that we have to offer in Rhondda Cynon Taf, as well as our wonderful award-winning YnysangharadWarMemorial Park, which in itself is a popular tourist attraction.
“This news also coincides with the Council’s announcement that Ponty’s Big Weekend is taking place - once again, it is gong to be a great summer of events in Rhondda Cynon Taf.”
