Lots going on this summer in Rhondda Cynon Taf - and loads more to come this year!
The final summer Bank Holiday Weekend of 2013 is upon us, with lots to do in and around Rhondda Cynon Taf.
There are many exciting events talking place - such as the Family Fun Day at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park in Pontypridd, along with the exciting Animal Zone.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council has organised a whole host of events throughout the summer months, attracting thousands of visitors and helping to boost the economy of the County Borough.
Chart-topping acts such as JLS, Little Mix, Union J and The Overtones headlined at Ponty’s Big Weekend. Big Welsh Bite also attracted a record-breaking crowd during its first two day, with celebrity TV chef Gino D’ Acampo and The Voice contestant Ragsy.
The much-loved Teddy Bears Picnic saw 2,000 toddlers have plenty of fun in the sun and the Aberdare Festival once again attracted huge crowds.
But the final Bank Holiday of the summer does not mean it is the end of all the fun.
There is still the Rhondda Cynon Taf County Show to look forward to on September 7-8……and not forgetting of course, the Nos Galan Road races in Mountain Ash on New Year’s Eve!
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is proud of its rich heritage. The entire County Borough is steeped in history and is the perfect place to explore the roots of the industrial revolution.
Just like the rest of Wales, Rhondda Cynon Taf also has its fair share of myths and legends. So a visit to the great outdoors is a must.
