Police in Ton Pentre are appealing for information from the public following a fire at a storeroom at Treherbert rugby club which was reported shortly after 11.00pm on Sunday 11th May.

The fire, which police believe was started deliberately, broke out at the entrance to a storage area at the rear of the clubhouse and spread into the building.
A number of fire engines attended the scene to extinguish the fire which caused extensive damage.
Inspector Nick Picton, said:
“We are treating this incident as arson and believe the fire may have spread from a bin to the main building.
“Incidents such as this one can have a devastating impact on the community. A play scheme which was popular with local people was affected by smoke damage is now out of action until further notice.
“We are taking this incident very seriously and believe that somebody somewhere knows who was responsible.”
