Agenda and papers published for the twenty ninth Board meeting

Cwm Taf Health Board

The agenda and papers have been published for the twenty ninth meeting of the Public Health Wales Board.

Public Health Wales BoardThe meeting, which is open to the public, is being held on Thursday 30 January 2014 in Cwm Taf Health Board Headquarters, Ynysmeurig House, Abercynon, CF45 4SN at 9.30am.

The formal board meeting will be chaired by Professor Sir Mansel Aylward and all staff are invited to attend to observe all or part of the meeting.

During the meeting a number of items will be received for decision.

The Board will also be asked to approve the draft medium term integrated delivery plan for Public Health Wales. The plan covers a three year period from 2014/15 to 2016/17 and has been developed in support of our Strategy and our aim of a healthier, happier and fairer Wales. A final version of the medium term integrated delivery plan will be submitted to the Board for final approval in March 2014.

Ruth Davies, Director of Workforce and Organisational Development will also present a management and leadership proposal to the Board for discussion. The paper outlines the results of a management and leadership development needs analysis and sets out a three year action plan that will support the achievement of the Public Health Wales Strategy.

Mansel will also provide an update to the Board on Prudent Healthcare following his presentation last week at the Welsh NHS Confederation Conference. The Board will also discuss the findings from the report from the Commission on Public Services Governance and Delivery, which were published on 20 January 2014.

In addition to this, there will be a presentation from Nicola John, Executive Director of Public Health, Cwm Taf Health Board and her team on the work that is currently being undertaken in Cwm Taf Health Board.
