Agency reminds people to take care as further rain expected

Environment Agency Wales

Environment Agency Wales is advising people in south and mid Wales to take care as further heavy rain is expected.

A band of rain will push eastwards late on Thursday night reaching south and mid Wales during the early hours of Friday morning.

The rain, anticipated to be heavy at times, will clear during Friday morning.

Further heavy rainfall could lead to flooding of roads and from drains and small streams.

One flood warning remains in place for the River Dee and 13 alerts are still in force across Wales.

River levels are high from recent rainfall and may rise and this could lead to more flood alerts or warnings being issued.

The forecast for Saturday is much improved but further rainfall is forecast for Sunday.

The Agency is advising people to keep up to date with the latest weather forecasts and news and traffic reports for any disruption in their area.

For the latest on flood alerts and warnings go to http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/flood or call Floodline on 0845 988 1188.
