Aberaman Business Receives First Grant Award

Aberaman Business Receives First Grant Award

An Aberaman signage business has become the first in Rhondda Cynon Taf to successfully receive funding from the new Heads of the Valleys Seed Capital grant.

The One Stop Sign Shop on Lewis Street in Aberaman received a grant of £2,000 to assist with the purchase of a specialist large format colour printer and cold laminator.

The business supplies bespoke signage to the trade and public, ranging from vehicle livery, shop signage, banners and garment print. With the help of the Seed Capital grant the business can now expand its product range.

The Seed Capital grant supports new and existing businesses based in the Heads of the Valleys area of Rhondda Cynon Taf. Support is also available for enterprises that want to relocate into the Heads of the Valleys area.

The grant scheme is a flexible fund provided through the Welsh Government Heads of the Valleys programme and is aimed at a wide range of businesses including retail, service sector and manufacturing businesses.

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economic Development & Community Safety Cllr Paul Cannon said, “Getting the economy growing is arguably the single biggest public policy priority right now and we are pleased to support the Heads of the Valleys Seed Capital Fund which will hopefully help create employment for residents and offer a valued service to existing businesses.

“To be able to offer financial assistance to enable a business to continue to grow and thrive is an essential part of our Business Support Team’s remit as we want to ensure our communities have access to services, businesses and employment opportunities.”

The programme will close on 22 February 2013. Those interested in finding out more can contact 01443 495169 or email invest@rctcbc.gov.uk
